Health is Not Negotiable

This is a website made by the first ever Amazon Corporate Disability Union by pregnant and disabled employees at Amazon for those who have disabilities and are pregnant: We are the Amazon Disability Union and we show that Amazon is violating the ADA, Violating safety standards, and Harming employees when we speak about up about the terms and conditions of employment. We wrote a OP ED which was greenlit and scheduled to be published by USA today, but after journalist approval the editor stopped the story. CNBC (Who stated publication would happen then retaliated and pulled the story), Yahoo and Business Insider and CNN all took efforts to retaliate against our group and assist Amazon by stopping the story on their behalf. (Amazon Defamed us in both private conversations with the media and in their public statements)

Here is the OP ED Amazon and the Media have worked together to prevent it from being published, in an effort to help Amazon violate the ADA and Pregnancy discrimination laws.
Title:We Organized Pregnant and Disabled Employees at Amazon, Instead of Listening Amazon Silenced Us

Below are a series of never before seen evidence. The media has never reported on but that show Amazon is violating the ADA.

Amazon's Disability Discrimination in their Layoff process - These documents show Amazon does not stop disabled employees or those seeking accomodation from being punished, placed on pivots, focus, LE, or other performance demerits while "seeking accomodation" "having an accomodation" or or on Leave for a disability reason. Many disabled amazonians reported being denied accomodations or placed on pivots without being provided an accomodation and then placed in layoffs or terminated. But the reason for them being on a pivot or performance was because they were denied accomodations. This is a violation of the ADA. Amazon has saught to place as many with disabilies in leave or give them pivots or LE's to try to get rid of them

Unpaid Overtime Messsaging by Amazon. See documents below - When they force workers many times those with disabilities to work overtime against their will. When someone has a disability many times they are forced to use UPT and then are penalized for using UPT. Or are forced to use intermitent Leave and then it runs out and they are put on full leave or penalized and placed in LE or other performance categories. Below are also propaganda messaging by Amazon that they tell their managers to say

Below are Discriminatory Advice to HR. Essentially Amazon is choosing the least costly of 2 accomodations. But they violate the law. Because it has to be equal. Amazon always gives unequal accomodations. If a doctor say they need work from home, amazon will give headphones or work wellness coaching. Its not even an equivalent. Also Amazon cannot make the case its too costly for them. Most accomodations don't cost much as it is. They also cannot use the excuse its too burdensome. Here poor Amazon is saying they will choose the least costly of two accomodations as if they don't make hundreds of billions a year and they can't afford to simply provide the necessary accommodations.

Below Are documents showing how Amazon has a Anti union bias and teaches anti organizing propaganda to all new hires and managers. It discourages organizing and speaking up about disability rights and it talks about how they monitor and stop organizing activity. They ask all employees to report other employees engaging in PCA Protected concerted activities and organizing which is survaillance

Discriminatory advice and strategy Amazon uses to place those with disabilities in Layoffs in mass and layoff those with disabilities but try to act like they are not doing it. It also discriminatorily advices managers to not pause punishments, LE, performance despite employees having accomodatioins or waiting on accomodations.

Other Discriminatory Instructions from Amazon on how to skirt the law and violate the ADA.

The Real statistics and number of employees on leave at Amazon (Between 1.4 and 3%) which include many disabled employees and real number of remote work roles at Amazon (less than 1 percent) Showing that Amazon continues to deny remote for disabled employees. They will not follow the ADA and allow remote work as an acceptable accomodation. But the employees denying remote work for Amazonians are actually working remote themselves along with all executives at Amazon

Below are Amazon Documents proving managers can and do indeed shape whether accomodations get approved or denied. Not only can they request roles be remote, they can input that as job listing criteria. They also can approve alternative accomodations. We were told by Senior HR leaders that Managers can change the terms and conditions of the role at any time. Thus the managers themselves along with HR and Leadership and DLS are responsible for the mass denial of accomodations. its a top down decision where they coordinate together to violate the law. We were told by Senior HR that they mass applied in office requirements to a whole segment of thousands of roles without going through a interactive process. They also weed out candidates on the front end by asking if they can work in the office and if they say no they don't proceed to the next round. Even though they didn't go through an interactive process to see if it could be accomodated. All to save money and intentionally violate the ADA but discretly.

Below are Official Amazon Documents showing They have Anti Organizing, anti PCA, anti union bias and both Union and Organizing PCA violations in General and this has been applied to those with disabilities where amazon has silenced organizers and disabled employees in general for speaking up

Executive Escalations and Summaries - Real documents showing every complaint submitted via the ethics portal or directly to Andy Jassy Beth Galleti by email or social media gets put into a executive escalation which then has an investigator create an executive summary.

Here is the Op Ed we wrote. Surprisingly our story not only has been suppressed by Amazon but also by the Media. Ways in Which the media Has suppressed our story are the following:
1. Yahoo wrote a story on discrimination but the Journalist stated that "The editor removed most of what I wrote relating to Organizing retaliation against the group, I was shocked and never had that happen before right before story publication"

2. CNBC stated they were going to publish a story - Then they informed amazon about the story they were going to publish and then pulled publication after informing Amazon about the story

3. Business Insider reporters downplayed issues of discrimination and said the story "was not important enough for their millions of readers"

We submitted the OP Ed to New York Times, Wall Street Journal. Both Op Ed journals decline rather quickly without giving it much thought but we had a number of Disabled and Pregnant Wall street Journal journalists and New York times journalists state the Op ed was fantastic. And some expressed shock in the fact their OP ED team dismissed this OP ED and they couldn't understand why.

Lastly, this OP ED was approved by USA Today - The USA OP ED journalist said this was great and greelit the publication - We went through 10 reviews over 4 months - They promised the publication of this OP ED. However the Editor then began to state things that were untrue about it in a way that conveyed they were going to try to stop the publication. Then right before publication was supposed to happen, the OP ED Editor Pulled the OP ED and would not allow it to be published. This truly is a story that Amazon and their best friend the MEDIA does not want you to know about.
